GRATITUDE: 5 Minute Meditation Break
A FIVE MINUTE MEDITATION
1| TAKE A SEAT
Find a comfortable place to sit or lay where your spine can be neutral and relaxed. Release the tension in your neck, shoulders, and spine as you settle in. Allow your fingers to find your favorite mudra if that helps you find a place of peace.
2| SEND GRATITUDE
Think of something in your life that brings you happiness, joy, or peace for which you are grateful. As you think of this allow your mind and body to receive the gifts of gratitude as you send out thankfulness and love. Gratitude will lift your spirits, soften your heart, and allow you to become content and present.
3| STAY CENTERED
If you feel your mind start to wander, bring yourself back to what it is you are thankful for. Send energy to the things in your life that have brought you joy so that you can bring more light into the world. If this does not work come back to your breath; focusing on deep and cleansing inhalations and exhalations.
4| MANTRA AND INTENTION
Repeat this mantra and take it with you to connect mind, body, and soul to the exercise:
“The real gift of gratitude is the more grateful you are the more present you become.”
