GROUND: A 5 Minute Meditation Break
A 5 MINUTE MEDITATION
1 | GO OUTSIDE
Find a grassy, quiet spot outside and stand up barefoot. The idea is to connect your energy to the earth’s: so get comfortable with a little dirt!
2| TAKE A BODY SCAN
Find a spot that feel peaceful and safe and then close your eyes. Begin to take a body scan by checking in with your whole body, rise to root. Start with your head, neck, and shoulders. Then continue on to the mid-section, actively checking in and sending energy to the vital organs, abdomen, and hips. Finally, move down to your legs and feet and check in with the way you are carrying your weight.
3| ROOT INTO THE EARTH
Begin rooting into the earth energetically with both feet. Feel the way your body supports you and connects you to the grass, soil, or sand. Try and imagine your feet becoming part of the earth, digging in deeper and connecting you further to nature. Feel each toe grounding down as you root deeper and deeper.
4| BEGIN WALKING
Begin walking forward and feel the way your feet kiss the ground each time they move your body forward. Feel each step: your heel grounding and initiating, the sole of the foot bringing the rest of your body along, and the toes supporting you as you go on your way.
Take deep inhales and exhales as you complete this grounding exercise for five minutes. Keep your eyes open with a soft gaze.
6| MANTRA AND INTENTION
Use this simple mantra and intention to connect mind, body, and soul to the exercise:
“I am grounded: my spirit is grounded deep in the earth. I am calm, strong, centered, and peaceful. I am able to let go of fear and trust that I am eternally safe. I am worthy of all things beautiful.”
