120 Second Self Care Blissful Break

Squeezing in ME TIME as a mom: Stress, even the SO WORTH IT TIME such as raising babies, can take its toll. Research shows a direct link between our emotions and our appearance. Sleep deprivation and negative emotions cam damage skin and hair says Evan Rieder, MD, a Dove dermatologist and psychiatrist. The antidote? Self-care. Don't have time for the spa? Me either! Here are DOABLE ideas to nourish your mood and your looks while at home.

Keep a basket in your kitchen with these 3 self care items.

Jade Roller

When your kids are magically playing quietly or you’re even sitting with them playing too, pull it out. Just 120 seconds of using a jade roller (Amazon.com $7.99) reduces inflammation and puffiness of the skin, reduces the appearance of under eye circles (especially if your roller is cold), stimulates lymphatic system and blood circulation, brightening complexion, tightening pores, helping reduce the appearance of wrinkles. But above all, it feels amazing. My little boy loves when I do it to his face (ever so gently just tickling the top of his head).

Mist, Mist, Ahhhh

Spritz Indigo Wild Mist ( Amazon.com $10.88 Lavender is our favorite) onto your face to soothe skin. Then take 3 deep breaths. Count to 3 on your inhale and count to 3 on your exhale each time.

Nourish Your Nails

In your kitchen basket leave a bottle of Pacificia Rose Revive Nourising Cuticle Oil (Amazon.com $21.50) in a bowl of warm water for 30 seconds. Then brush on the warm oil all over your nails and cuticles.
